By S.L. Nobrega (a.k.a Canyon)

He wears a leather jacket, Fedora, Webley by his side and bullwhip in hand

Fighting bad guys and searching around for treasures in ancient lands

He’s been described by several people in so many different ways

This courageous and daring adventurer, in our hearts he always stays

He travels the globe frequently in search of ancient artefacts

Plunging headlong into danger, and not necessarily free from attack

He may get hurt, be injured in a fight, or even sometimes get shot

But he is brave, stubborn, determined and does not give up

He has a great talent for languages and dialects and holds a Ph.D

Expert in the occult, ancient customs and, of course, Archaeology

One side a well respected professor in the academic world

The other, a rugged adventurer, we watch wide eyed, as his adventures unfurl

Determined, resourceful, heroic, brave and strong

We all wish we could be as great as him, and we all dream on

No matter what gets thrown at him he stands tall

He is without a doubt the greatest hero of them all

Ancient temples, booby traps, poisoned arrows, exotic lands

Rolling boulders, ancient maps, his adventures are epic and grand

A tall, dashing figure, with clear determined hazel eyes

‘We can’t wait for the fourth adventure’, everyone cries

His wit, resourcefulness, bravery and fantastic smile

Make watching the trilogy even more worthwhile

Marion, Willie, Henry, Marcus, Sallah and Short Round

Share in his adventures of treasures lost and found

Beautiful women in spectacularly fantastic, exotic locales

And it’s great how they get involved in these romantic tales

As I watch the trilogy again and again, ah well, a girl can dream

But forgive me Marion, Willie and Elsa, if I turn a shade of green!

Now, I think you have an idea of who I’m talking about

Bold, fearless (well, nearly) and heroic without any doubt

Travelling the globe, ancient artefacts, skeletons sat in ancient thrones

I salute you, Adventurer, Scholar, my Hero, Indiana Jones!
