Soon.net posted an article today, on the May 3d issue of Entertainment
Weekly. EW features an interview with Kathleen Kennedy, Lucas, and Ford.
Kathleen Kennedy states that they have a new writer, and will begin
work on the script this June with a first draft this Fall (Her office
denies a report that the writer could be scribe, Tom Stoppard.) And
there's another thing, they also confirm that there will be a scene
with Indy and some of his old girlfriends, (Karen Allen & Kate Capshaw)
and Ford says; "It's probably going to be
the best scene in the movie."

Today,
Spielbergfilms.com
posted a story on Tom Stoppard's involvement in writing Indy IV. Here's
the full article which:
"James
Clarke, the author of Pocket Essentials: Steven Spielberg wrote in
regarding yesterday's news on scribe Tom Stoppard's possible involvement
with Indy 4 with a great point: Stoppard allegedly worked on redrafts
of LAST CRUSADE after having written EMPIRE OF THE SUN. Clarke points
out "My further understanding is that Stoppard on Last Crusade
worked specifically on beefing up Henry Jones Sr. and also on the
scenes where Indy and Henry talk on the Zeppelin and apparently the
"talks in her sleep" exchange." Could Stoppard bring
his deft handling of the older Jones Sr. to an older Indy, Jr.? The
evidence he'd be a great man for the job keeps mounting."

Tom
Stoppard to Write Indy 4???

Okay,
here's something strange, Coming
Soon.net reported that Tom Stoppard is going to write Indy 4.
"Variety
reports that "Indiana Jones 4" is gaining momentum with
a deal in the works for a big-ticket writer.
The fourth installment of "Indiana Jones," has begun to
move ahead as Paramount with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison
Ford are courting Tom Stoppard to write the next film so that it can
be put into production in 2004.
The trio has been sidetracked by other projects, adds the trade, and
it took time to come to terms with Paramount on the budget of the
film, but Lucas hatched a story the other two liked.
The participation of Stoppard, who just worked with Ford on rewrites
of his upcoming film, "K-19: The Widowmaker," is subject
to his availability, as he is simultaneously negotiating to reteam
with "Shakespeare in Love" director John Madden on the DreamWorks
pic "Tulip Fever."
As we've
seen in the past, Variety never been accurate with Indiana
Jones, so don't panic, Indy IV IS coming! ;)
