Jim Ward Talks Briefly on the Next Indy Game
January 30th, 2006| Posted by Aaron
LucasArts President Jim Ward spoke with MSNBC about the state of LucasArts, where Ward briefly spoke about the next-generation Indiana Jones video game due out in 2007. Here's the information from MSNBC:
But Ward has said LucasArts will benefit from putting out games such as Lucasfilm's "Indiana Jones" franchise later this year, when more consumers own the new Xbox machines. Not surprisingly, Ward hopes to coordinate the game's release with a possible Indiana Jones film remake in the summer of 2007.
Nothing new really, but it's good to know that the newIndiana Jones game is still on everyone's mind at LucasArts.

Ford Says He's Fit For Indiana Jones 4
January 29th, 2006| Posted by Aaron
After a screening of his new film Firewall, Harrison Ford spoke with ComingSoon.net about Indiana Jones 4 and again, the age factor was brought up, but Ford came back with these words of comfort:
"I can't tell you anything about 'Indiana Jones,' but I think you've just seen a film in which I perform physically to an extent [that will be] sufficient for 'Indiana Jones.'"
About.com also posted new quotes from Harrison Ford concerning Indiana Jones 4. Ford commented on Frank Darabont's script saying, “I didn’t say anything specifically about Frank’s script, not because I didn’t like it or did like it, but I didn’t say anything specifically about the script.” Now, this is where the About.com information gets tricky. The site seems to indicate that Ford will not be putting a deadline on the Indy 4 script (contrary to what he said earlier this month) but no actual quote from Ford indicates this. Nevertheless, here is the text from About.com including the quote from Ford:
Harrison Ford Will Not Put a Deadline on Waiting for an Indiana Jones IV Script: “Why? Why? The audience is there, they’re anxious for the film I believe. Everybody involved is anxious to make the film again, make another Indiana Jones.”
There you have it. It's good to hear Ford confident about his physical capabilities when talking about the next Indiana Jones film. There's no doubt he can handle it, especially once he dons that dusty fedora once again. And I'm sure we can all agree that everyone is very anxious for Indiana Jones 4. Bring it on!
Ford Hopes to Start Filming Indy 4 in the Summer
January 28th, 2006| Posted by Aaron
IGN.com got a chance to talk with Harrison Ford about his new film Firewall, and during the interview he spoke about Indiana Jones 4 and when he hopes to begin filming:
Q: How do you feel about your career as it is right now, and what can we expect from you in the future?
Ford: Great, really. For the first time I really am working and developing projects a lot more. So, there really are a bunch of things that I think are seeing their way through. I have an ambition, and I think there's a fair chance that we may have another Indiana Jones. (Audience cheers.) I thought you were going to ask the most asked question of all. It's 'When am I going to do Indiana Jones 4.'
Q: When might you begin filming Indiana Jones 4?
Ford: (He laughs) Hopefully this summer.
Let's hope nothing gets in the way so that Indiana Jones 4 may finally become a reality. Keep it here for the latest!

Lucas Hopes to See Indy 4 Released in 2007
January 19th, 2006| Posted by Aaron
MTV.com posted a quote from George Lucas, where he stated that Indiana Jones 4 is getting closer and that he hopes to see Indy 4 released in 2007:
"We just keep working on it [Indiana Jones 4]. You know, we just write and write and write and write and write. But we are getting closer, and hopefully this year we will have a start date and we will have a script that we all love and hopefully it will come out next year."
Always good to hear a member of the Big Three sounding optimistic about Indiana Jones 4. So keep an eye out for more official annoucments in the coming months. Hopefully it won't be long before production begins. Stay tuned for the latest!

Ford Gives Spielberg and Lucas Deadline for Indy 4
January 17th, 2006| Posted by Aaron
Contact Music has posted a quote from Harrison Ford today, concerning Indiana Jones 4 and the deadline Ford has layed down for Steven Spielberg and George Lucas:
"It's looking very good to do another one. I haven't felt this positive about it happening in a long time... but if it doesn't happen in the next two years we should all forget it."
It is good to know that Ford is confident in Indy 4 - no worries there. However, it comes down to whether or not the Big Three will be able to pull together and bring Indiana Jones 4 to the screen. Two years is all they have, but since things are still happening, it looks pretty good for a fourth Indiana Jones adventure. Only time will tell, and we'll be here all the way to keep you up to date on the latest news. Stay tuned!
Big thanks to Eddie for letting me know.

Yet Another "Rumored" Indy 4 Plot/Title...
January 16th, 2006| Posted by Aaron
I wanted to address this before things got out of hand... A concerned fan emailed me yesterday, asking about an Indiana Jones 4 rumor that has surfaced on the net. The rumor claims that the Indy 4 title is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Sun, and along with this rumored title is an Indy 4 plot summary. It seems as though this rumor first emerged on IMDb's message boards. Here is the alleged plot summary for Indy 4:
"Indiana Jones will have to deal with his greatest fears in the upcoming fourth adventure in the series.
When Indys son is recruited by an english gentleman to go in search of an artifact of immense power hidden deep in the Amazon, Indys father suspects something is not right.
Soon he stumbles upon a terrifying plot by a powerful secret society hell bent on recovering an ancient power.
teamed once again with his father Henry (Sean Connery) and the English Gentlemans Daughter Sabrina they head out to the amazon where both parties discover an ancient civilisation still existing.
But will Indy be able to stop the secret society from harnessing the Mayan's Powers and taking over the world. and can Sabrina be trusted?"
Let me just make one thing very clear: this is a RUMOR. There's nothing to back this information up, just what a few individuals on the Internet are saying. Unless we hear from people who are actually involved in the film, we should take all Indy 4 information with a grain of salt. And since it is Indiana Jones 4 we're dealing with, we should always expect the unexpected because anything goes. This particular rumor appears to be D.O.A., so I wouldn't get too excited. Fact is, I don't think there's any truth to this at all.
Thanks to Beylie for alerting me to this rumor.
Frank Marshall Talks Indiana Jones 4 - UPDATED
January 9th, 2006| Posted by Aaron
Zap2it.com has quotes from the recent press
conference
with Frank Marshall in Century City in LA. During the press conference, Marshall spoke about the new Bourne film, Jurassic Park 4 and of course Indiana Jones 4:
"Way back when Harrison was being honored by the AFI when this all started, we were all standing backstage, we saw all the movies and everything and we were a little nostalgic and mellow and we said, 'You know, that was fun. We ought to do that. Let's try and do this.' Well that was a while ago. And I think that what we want is we want it to be as good as the others. These are not stories based on anything, so it's taking a while. But I'll tell you, it's on the front burner and we're gonna decide to do this or not real soon."
Marshall noted that "Frank [Darabont] did a nice job, but we wanted to go in a different direction, and that's moviemaking,"
"We're gonna have a script real soon and now it's a question of getting our schedules all to where we can do it," is all Marshall can promise. "There's four of us, so it's hard."
Marshall also spoke about a new Jurassic Park film, "I'd say we've got 'Bourne' here [he gestures in front of himself], we've got 'Indy' here [gestures a bit behind] and we have 'Jurassic' back here [he creates a wide gulf with his hands]. Steve's obviously been pretty busy the last year, so we haven't really focused on that yet. But we will."
This is excellent news! If what Frank is saying comes to fruition, we should be hearing more official
announcements
on Indy 4 very soon. The fact that Indy is on the front burner should be of great assurance to fans, and as Frank said, it's now a matter of getting everyone's schedules in sync. Things are looking good, so keep it here for the latest!
Thanks to Eddie for letting me know!
