"Here's the news we've been waiting for to snap us out of these "too good to be true" blues. Some developments behind-the-scenes at Lucasfilm have resulted in two important developments. First of all, Frank Darabont has now signed the dotted line and will write Indy 4. Expect the announcement to break any day now, but we know it to be official already. Also, the studio has selected a release date we can also tell you is solid. The legacy of Indiana Jones will continue on July 4, 2005."

Very exciting news. Only 3 years and 34 days to go! We'll keep you updated!

First Two Emperor's Tomb Reviews!
May 29th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

The first two preview reviews for Emperor's Tomb have immerged from E3 today, the first from TechTV:

"If adventure has a name, it must be Indiana Jones." You'd be hard-pressed to find a better catchphrase than that, yet the name Indiana Jones hasn't meant very much to videogaming in recent years. That pistol-packing upstart Lara Croft has stolen Indy's thunder. All that's bound to change when "Indiana Jones & the Emperor's Tomb" launches next fall on the PS2, Xbox, and PC systems. LucasArts wants its thunder back, and judging by the limited E3 demo we got a chance to play today, it just might redeem the world's greatest archaeologist in the eyes of action/adventure fans."

The second comes from The House of Mojo, who else?

"Indiana Jones has always been an eagerly anticipated property from LucasArts. After such critically successful games as Last Crusade and Fate of Atlantis, people have enjoyed stepping into Indy’s shoes and adventuring all over the world. The previous third-person game, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, drew mixed reactions from fans and critics. While I did find Infernal Machine to be flawed, it seems that Emperor’s Tomb has really done some things right here."

This game looks to be a keeper for sure. TechTV was impressed by its smooth graphics, so this should be a good one for PC. Be sure to check out the Emperor's Tomb section! We'll keep you updated.

Lucas Sets The Record Straight
May 27th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

MTV.com conducted an interview with George Lucas on Indy IV and he's here to set the record straight. In the interview he confirms that he does have a story that both Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford like. He also went on to say; "We're in the process of hiring a writer, and hopefully we'll be able to start shooting ... not next year, but probably the year after." Lucas also said that Sam Jackson jumped the gun with his statements on E! that Ford's next project was Indy IV. So there you have it, years of rumors set to rest, It will take a while to get Indy IV, but it will be well worth it. Be sure to check back for more updates!

Ford Preparing To Shoot Indy IV?
May 23rd, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

VERY interesting news from TheRaider.net this morning, they've received word that Ford is preparing to shoot Indy IV! Last night on the Biography of Harrison Ford, hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, he said that Ford is getting read to begin filming Indy IV! Here's the full article:

I just watched the biography of Harrison Ford on the Biography channel hosted by Samuel L. Jackson. At the end of the show, Samuel L. Jackson said that Ford was getting ready to shoot Indiana Jones 4 next! He also quoted Ford saying that, "We are going to have to show that Indiana has shown some wear and tear over the years." This is a quote I remember reading over a year ago. Since Sam has hung out with Lucas during the filming of AOTC, I am sure he knows what's on Lucas's schedule. Again, we just have to wait and see. And to quote exactly what Samuel L. Jackson said on Indy 4 was, ""Harrison Ford is getting ready to shoot Indiana Jones 4 ect...".

It appears to be happen folks, and it's happening fast! If this is true, then what Lucas said in the Star Wars Insider is probably a misleading statement to fans. Now no one can deny that there's for sure something brewing in the world of Indiana Jones.

A Son Has Been Chosen
May 22nd, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

Coming Soon.net featured an article on the role of Indy's son. According Ken, the translation of the Vara Magazine actually reviles more than we first thought. We reported that Lucas said: "Spielberg is directing, and Indiana will have a son.", But what he actually said is: 'Indiana Jones? Spielberg directs, and Indiana gets a son. Yes, I know who. But I won't tell you yet.' So there you have it, if this whole story is true, then Indy will have a son, and apparently Lucas knows who it is.

New Emperor's Tomb Trailer!
May 21st, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

The Official Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb site has released a brand-new trailer today for the new Indy game! This one is totally different from the trailer released at IGN. No Indy IV Until After Episode III
May 20th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

Today, I received my new Star Wars insider, (Issue Number 60) where they featured an interview with George Lucas. He said that there's still a chance of Indy IV, but it will be a few more years until he gets around to finishing it. He also stated that they are in search of a writer, and if they can get a script that Harrison and Steven like then there will be an Indy IV. Here's the full article:

"After Episode III, Lucas said, there's still a chance he would reunite with Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg for a fourth Indiana Jones feature for Paramount Pictures. "I don't think it will ever be too late," he said. "We are trying to come up with a writer now. If we can get a script that Harrison and Steven both like, then there will be a movie. But it won't be for a few years."

He then went on to say:

"...but I've got a lot of ideas, primarily for television. I had the most fun doing the Young Indy series, so I'll probably go back to doing stuff like that. I have some other personal projects, but they are so experimental in nature, I'm not sure they'll even be released. But I'll just do them."

Well, there you have it, straight from the man himself, we won't be seeing Indy IV until AFTER Star Wars Episode III, no worries, this will just give them more time to make it better!

Will Indy Have a Son in Indy IV?
May 20th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

Coming Attractions reported today, that the Dutch TV Magazine Vara, interviewed George Lucas on the new film Atatck of the Clones. They also asked him about Indy IV and he said: "Spielberg is directing, and Indiana will have a son." All I can say is, wow! This is about the best news we could possibly want to hear!

Pat Roach Returning for Indy IV!
May 18th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

Harry of AICN received a letter telling him that Pat Roach will be returning for Indy IV! You'll remember Pat Roach from Raider, he was the big bald Nazi that fought Indy in the flying wing scene, he's also the only actor to appear in all three films besides Harrison. Here's the full article:

"Just thought Id send you this little tidbit of info about 'Indy 4'. On Saturday 11th May, I met Pat Roach signing his autobiography, in Wolverhampton, UK. If you are a keen Indiana Jones fan, you'll remember Pat from the awesome air-field fistfight (Pat was the bald german beefcake) in 'Raiders', and he also played the big, bad indian warrior dude from the unforgettable conveyor-belt fight in 'Temple of Doom'. Pat has done a lot here in the UK, from a wrestler, to an actor in one of the most successful UK drama series' ever made ('Auf Weidersehen Pet') as well as appearing in Conan, Bond, etc.

Pat was a very polite guy, friendly, and came across as a gentle-giant type of guy. Anyways, I was chatting to him about his Indy days, nearly getting his head chopped off by Arnie in Conan 2, among other things. Pat said he would most likely be in Indy 4, if indeed it goes ahead with Harrison managing to keep the role (he and Pat have kept in touch). Yay! Hopefully, we will be treated with yet another incredible climatic fight, that will remain imbedded in cinematic history."

Very encouraging news to say the least! Check back for more updates!

Does Indy IV Has a Writer?
May 17th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

IGN Film Force says a reliable source informed them, Spielberg and Lucas have a writer for Indy IV. Oscar-nominated writer/director Frank Darabont, who's films include; The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, will supposedly be writing Indy IV. Darabont was also a writer on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles TV series. IGN also stated that Lucas won't be able to begin on Indy IV until AFTER Star Wars Episode III, this would delay filming of Indy IV to 2004.

Now, a lot of this contradicts what we've heard in the past, and remember, this is NOT official, so don't panic. We'll keep you up-to-date on this story.

Indy IV Production Moving Ahead!
May 16th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

TheRaider.net received some very interesting Indy IV info. Walt "Sergei" Rybinski, who moderates the bull whip section @ Indy Gear.com, contacted TheRaider.net informing them that the prop department is looking for whips! "...they have enough whips with cables (stunt whips), but are totally out of regular whips." This is very good news to say the least! According to TR.N, there will be more whip scenes in Indy IV than the before. The pieces are surely falling into place and things are starting to heat up! Go here to read the full article.

Steven Spielberg Finally Graduates!
May 15th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

IMBD.com reported today, that Steven Spielberg is finally graduating from college after a 30-year delay. Spielberg says it's "...my longest 'post-production schedule." Spielberg dropped out of California State University 30 years ago, to pursue his film career, (that has to be one of the most successful careers in cinema history). Spielberg will walk in the graduation ceremony at the end of this month, to receive a degree in film & Electronic Media.

Indy IV Location Scouting Begins!
May 15th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

Dark Horizon reported today, that someone sent them a very interesting story on location scouting for Indy IV! If this is true, it would mean that the recent rumors that Indy IV will begin filming this summer are true. Here's what "Paul" had to say:

"I spend most of my afternoon up in Sedona, AZ- beautiful red rock country where they shot many westerns in the 1940s and 1950s. Anyway, I was hiking through and along Oak Creek Canyon, when my friend and I came across six people with digital cameras and notepads. They were pretty friendly people; as we took a break nearby, I noticed they were talking about film speeds and aperture settings and stuff. I then asked them why they were taking so many notes. They said that they're location scouts working on the new Indiana Jones film. Apparently, they were around the Mogollon Rim earlier in the week (southeast of Sedona, closer to Phoenix), and will be heading up and around the South Rim of the Grand Canyon tomorrow morning. They're looking for "remote, yet somewhat populated desert settings" for a part of their movie, we were told. I wasn't even really aware that production was moving on this, but it appears that they're at least looking for settings. Anyway, the crew was quite nice- we only talked for about two minutes in all. They need to have areas that can easily double for the American Southwest in the mid-1950s. They said that they'd be back to Oak Creek Canyon in late August or early September, if they ultimately decided to choose that location. The crew is heading up to Utah and Joshua Tree National Park too, if I remember correctly"

VERY exciting news for Indy fans! Be sure to check back for more updates!

Indy IV To Begin Filming This June!
May 6th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron

Ain't It Cool News reported today that some one who calls himself "Buster" told them that Indy IV will begin filming this June! For some time, we've been hearing little "hints" that Indy IV would start production soon, but this is some of the hardest evidence I've heard in a long time! Here's what "Buster" had to say:

"Hey Harry, came off the set of Catch Me If You Can this past week and I can't say who, but someone very very up there did indeed reveal that Indiana Jones 4 will not be happening as everyone thinks in 2004. It goes before camera this June! When you think about the hints, it makes sense... George Lucas saying, "if I finished episode two this week I have to start on Indy 4 next week". There is Spielberg's free time. Plus Ford not yet signed on anything for the summer. Trust me on this one, Indy 4 starts shooting soon. Call me "Buster"."

Well Buster, if you're right, then we've gone from bad to extremely exciting in two days! If this is true, then you can bet that the next few months will be very interesting...
