I just received my new
Star Wars Insider, and they featured a segment on Indy IV's current
status and also confirming that it IS going to happen! Read below
for the full article:
"Fervent
Indiana Jones enthusiasts have been chanting and lighting candles
to their personal deities for over a decade, praying for a new Indiana
Jones movie. Some were just about to give up hope. Some scoffed when
rumors surfaced that Indiana Jones IV was, indeed, going to occur.
Well,
guess what I would appear that your labors were not in vain. Lucasfilm
Ltd. has announced preliminary plans for a fourth installment in the
spectacular Indiana Jones series, with Steven Spielberg as director,
George Lucas as executive producer, and Frank Marshall as producer.
Starring, of course, will be the inimitable Harrison Ford as archeologist
extraordinaire, Indiana Jones.
Frank
Darabont, who wrote several episodes of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles,
as well as The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption, and Nightmare
on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, has been hired to write a script
based on an original story idea by George Lucas.
"I'm
excited to be able to revisit a character I created a generation ago,
: Lucas said. "Steven, Harrison and I have wanted to do this
for some time, and this feels like the right moment."
Although
the project is underway, and contingent on a script everyone likes,
a release date and a title have yet to be determined. The only thing
that can be said is that the point in history in which the story takes
place will be relative to Ford's age and the Indiana Jones timeline.
When is that? We'll all know the answer when they start filming. (Just
remember-- Harrison Ford was born on July 13m 1942, so you can do
the math.) Stay tuned to Star Wars Insider for more Indiana Jones
details as they arise, and keep those candles burning!"
Keeps getting better and
better! More confirmations keep coming in, each day looks even more
promising! Now, according to the Insider, the release date and the
exact timeline hasn't been set, (nor title) so the July 4th 2005 release
date is of course subject to change. This can be found in The Star
Wars Insider Issue #62 page 12. Stay tuned for more updates and news!

Ford Talks Indy IV
Shooting Schedule!
September
7th, 2002 | Posted by Aaron
Cinema
Confidential reported that while at the American Film Festival,
Harrison Ford spoke about Indy IV, and told that Spielberg and himself
have reserved a time slot to begin shooting Indy IV:
If
you're a major film studio and you want Harrison Ford or Steven Spielberg
in the year 2004, better hold off for another year.
While
at the American Film Festival defending his role in "K-19: The
Widowmaker," Harrison Ford was quoted as saying about "Indiana
Jones 4," "Steven Spielberg and myself have reserved time
in 2004 to begin shooting."
Good
news for Indy fans, who have been taunted by rumors of an "Indy
4" for many years, only to hear that it has been put off due
to scheduling conflicts.
More confirmations like
this can certainly bring sleep full nights to more Indy fans. ;-)

Ford Talks Indy IV!
September
2nd, 2002 | Posted by Aaron
FilmFestivals.com
interviewed Ford in L.A. about his new film 'K-19: The Widow Maker'.
They also touched on Indy IV, here's part of the interview:
Q: Have
you been practicing with your whip again for Indiana?
Ford:
I'll wait until I get a script that I can commit to; then I'll pick
up the whip again.
Q: You
must have so much input into the Indiana Jones films.
Ford:
It's not a question of my input. It's a question of what our collaborative
capacity is. I'm working with George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. It's
not a question of obtaining control over the situation but of all
of us working together with our combined ambition to make a film that
is as good as the ones we made before.
And hopefully they will.
Thanks to 'Roberto C.' for the news!
